bag lady.

Carrie Bradshaw couldn't have said it when she stated that "balls are to men what purses are to women: it's just a little bag but you feel naked in public without it."

Although I can't refer back to any situations that I've forgotten my purse anywhere, but if I ever did, I'd lose my mind because half my life fits in it. Here's a little peek into what you'd find in my bag if I dumped it out in front of you.

1.)A blue sparkly wallet from Hot Topic from way back in the day. I'd say it's time to retire the old thing but I can't seem to find one that fits all my old receipts, expired store coupons, and all my other useless junk
2.)Club Monaco gloves
3.)My most coveted item in my purse: a vintage rhinestone-encrusted business card holder
4.)I ALWAYS have a notebook on me
5.)A hair pick, hair ties and bobby pins for my very unruly hair
6.)Aviator sunglasses from The Loft
7.)This Cucina hand lotion is to die for! I got it at Sur La Table months ago and it's still going strong
8.)I always have a pink and a red lipstick in my bag. My favorite red is Bombshell by M.A.C. and my favorite pink is Powerhouse by M.A.C.
9.)Extra-intense eye-liner by L'Oreal
10.)M.A.C. powder in medium plus
11.)Rosebud strawberry lip balm
12.)The world's best smelling perfume: Viva La Juicy by Juicy Couture. This tiny bottle is perfect for any size bag
13.)Keys. I'd say my keys may be the most essential item in my purse

a whole lotta' baking going on.

When I first started this blog of mine, I promised my readers I was going to share with you some of the things I enjoy the most. As much as sparkly, leopard print clothes, a new pair of shoes, or the new Kate Spade collection thrills me, I have to say that one of my other loves in this world is food.

Thanks to my new-found obsession Pinterest, I now think I'm Betty Crocker. I decided to spend my one night off baking one of the recipes I'd been drooling over for weeks, and this was the delicious result.

With just 5 key ingredients to mix together, I knew this was something I couldn't botch. I did, however, substitute the raspberries for strawberries.

retail therapy.

Sometimes when a gal is feeling a little down and out, there is absolutely, positively no better therapy than a trip to the mall. So I let all my frustrations out on my debit card and Forever 21, and this is what it got me.

"I like my money right where I can see it, hanging in my closet."

The question “where did you think to come up with that outfit” is something I’m asked quite a bit, whether it be as a compliment or in more of a “you look out of your mind wearing that” tone. Either way, some of my responses would be blogs, fashion magazines, or the almighty CARRIE Bradshaw.

Like most fans of the show, we gush, we drool, and watch in sheer enjoyment/jealousy the amazing wardrobe she has. However, like most fans of the show, not all of us are living on the make-believe budget of how much we can spend on a pair of shoes, a fabulous bag, or even a dinner at a high-end restaurant in New York City.

Myself being one of the girls in that category, I’m planning on doing a few spreads on how to reinvent some of her most infamous wardrobe selections on a budget.

The first featured ensemble was the first outfit to pop into my mind. It was featured in the episode “An American Girl in Paris: Part Deux.” Enjoy.
